As we continue to innovate and expand our services, we are seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of a cutting-edge data analysis and administration tool. As a Software Engineer at Warner Music Group, you will be a key member of our technology team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a robust data analysis and administration tool for Spinnin' Records in its current and future iterations. This tool plays a pivotal role in empowering our internal teams to make data-driven decisions, streamline administrative tasks, and optimise the performance of our diverse music catalogue. You will collaborate with the Spinnin' Records team located in Amsterdam while based in London/UK offices working with the Songkick Engineering Team. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Working in a cross functional team with business & design Working across the product stack as needed Backend Engineering with PHP/Symfony Working across our product stack as needed KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and define technical specifications for the product. Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient software solutions, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Develop intuitive and user-friendly interfaces Create and maintain secure APIs and back-end services that interface with various external data sources and databases. Work closely with the Data Science team to integrate machine learning and data processing capabilities into the business tools. Perform thorough testing, debugging, and optimization of the software to ensure high performance, reliability, and data accuracy. Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and propose innovative solutions to enhance the tool's functionality and user experience. Collaborate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with the team. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by end-users, ensuring timely support and problem resolution. Continuously monitor the tool's performance and identify areas for improvement, taking proactive measures to enhance its efficiency and scalability. Work with the team on projects and KRs to improve our products and develop the next iteration of the core product REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE 3+ years experience as a Software Developer is required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP and Javascript Experience with Symfony, to develop robust and maintainable server-side applications. Strong knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React or Vue.js). Familiarity with Docker for containerization and deployment of applications. Knowledge of cloud services, particularly GCP or AWS, to design scalable and cost-effective solutions. Familiarity with RabbitMQ -or- similar service for building distributed and scalable messaging applications. Understanding of Redis, an in-memory data structure store, to implement caching and improve application performance. Proficiency in PHP 8.x to develop server-side logic for the application. Experience with version control using GIT/GitHub Actions for collaborative development and automated workflows. Knowledge of MySQL 8.x for managing relational databases and optimising queries. BIG PLUS IF YOU HAVE Experience with Amazon SES (Simple Email Service) for email communications and notifications. Familiarity with Snowflake, a cloud-based data warehousing platform, to handle large-scale data analytics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. A passion for music and the entertainment industry is a plus.
