To deliver a high-quality activity and excursion programme; ensure integration of language learning with the social program ; maintain proper levels of student safety, discipline, and welfare. Follow the rules of safeguarding during the delivery of activities. Liaise with other activity leaders and staff members from other departments in order to be able to deliver quality sessions of the highest standard with safety in mind. Responsibilities Attending an on-site staff induction Preparing and planning activities and excursions in advance Leading and delivering activities and excursions, including optional extra excursions if necessary. Completing risk assessments including any extra risks for individual students Implementing Health & Safety standards/procedures for each tour/activity/event Taking instructions from the student service manager and working together to find solutions to a potential problem. Supervision of under 18 students always during the activities. Taking registers for all activities, excursions, and mealtimes, paying special attention to minors Ensuring the integration of language learning with the social programme by following the words mentioned on the risk assessment. Participating in formal and informal observations of activity sessions Assisting group leaders with any special requests where appropriate Reporting accidents/ incidents to the student services manager and completing necessary documentation. Maintaining adequate levels of student discipline Wearing the Twin lanyard provided by student services throughout the activities and whilst on duty. Any other reasonable/appropriate duties Communicating with the student services manager regarding any safeguarding concerns or issues that are raised. Taking initiative and using creativity to engage students in the activity. Education /Qualification Educated to GCSE level HSE-recognised First Aid certificate (such as St John's First Aid at Work) is desirable. Lifeguarding licence desirable Sports coaching qualifications are desirable Skills and Experience Essential Applicants should be at least 18 years old with the necessary maturity to undertake responsibility for groups of students aged 10-13, 14-15, 16-17 and 18+ years old. Desirable, but not essential: Experience in supervising minors Safeguarding training Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment Customer service experience Ability to speak a second language. Experience working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment Experience working as part of a team Additional Information Salary: £15 per hour Location: ECL Contract: Temporary Hours: Various including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. Please Note: The successful candidate must be able to work in the UK.
