Tool Technician - Mon - Friday Days - flex start timesCatfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with an award-winning specialist manufacturing company based in Oxfordshire and they are looking to recruit a Tool Technician on a permanent basis to their expanding team.Monday - Friday Days – Flexible Start TimesTool Technician - ROLE OVERVIEWIn this role you will be responsible for site wide injection/compression moulding tool changes in line with production requirements.Tool Technician - ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Responsible for all aspects of tool change including area preparation, tool preparation, placement in machine, water connections etc. Ensuring the tool is ready for start-up.• Changing mold inserts and plates as required• Servicing/maintenance where required under instruction of maintenance manager• Developing more efficient tool changes using SMED principles• Using CMMS software to track tool changes, repairs, observations and follow on jobs.• Communication of issues with tools to other teams• Assisting the maintenance team with other jobs as requiredTool Technician - DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE• Strong general mechanical knowledge and experience within a heavy equipment environment, ideally in the plastics industry.• Experience in operation of overhead hoists, lifting and slinging• Experience with heavy tool changes – tool range 200Kg – 8000Kg• Ability to read and follow technical documentation• Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills.• Must be PC literate• Required to work with counterbalance FL trucks Current licence desirable but not essentialMANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIESAll employees have the following responsibilities:• Working in accordance to the company health and safety policy to take reasonable care for their own and colleagues health and safety.• Refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for health and safety reasons.• Adhere to the Company’s H&S requirements i.e. risk assessments, work instructions and through training.• Work in accordance with information and training provided, and not undertake any task for which authorisation and / or training has not been given.Tool Technician previous suitable job titles: Tooling Engineer, Tooling Change Technician, Tooling Technician, Tool Engineer, Tool Maintenance Technician, Tool Maintenance EngineerPlease apply ASAPDue to current high volumes of applications to our advertised jobs, we are unable to respond to every application.
