Position: Project Manager (Technical) Location: Glasgow Department: Operations Reports To: Director, Marine & Technical Services Position Summary The Project Manager (Technical) is part of the Marine and Technical Services group that provides support to the Fleet and business development activities.This position is responsible to the Director, Marine and Technical Services, for providing the general management (including construction management) of technical projects focusing on longer term strategies, technical proposals for new business, large capital projects, conversions and newbuild vessels.The Project Manager (Technical) has responsibility for the successful delivery of designated projects.The role shall also provide technical support to the operations team as directed by the Director, Marine and Technical Services.The measure of success will be achieving all KPIs on a consistent basis, successful delivery of each project phase from initiation through to closure, meeting the BU expectations and upholding the Seapeak brand. Major Responsibilities Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority. Drive operational leadership and project management best practices. Prepare project plans, develop work scopes, create budgets and all required documentation to support projects from conception through to closure, in compliance with, as a minimum: Ship building contract requirements Seapeak standards and practices Technical specifications International rules and regulations Customer requirements Lead and manage project resources through all project phases ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned from designated projects. Representing Seapeak at industry events and seminars. Technical Carrying out research of relevant programs and technologies for use within new construction projects and within the fleet. Carrying out documentation and specification reviews and research for project opportunities, providing proactive technical solutions for tender opportunities. Monitoring and reviewing existing project documentation and Seapeak policies, submitting recommendations for change Developing and managing assigned projects, including significant repairs, modifications conversions and new build ensuring delivery in compliance with the specification and contracts. Gather feedback and make recommendations for amendments to be made in future project plans, budgets, specifications, and plans. Work closely with the Director, Marine and Technical Services, providing technical input to support BD opportunities for future business opportunities. Determine project engineering needs, define scopes of work with engineering providers and Shipyards. Lead and manage plan approval processes. People Develop and maintain relationships with strategic vendors, classification societies, external project resources and other industry professionals. Work closely with members of the fleet, ship and shore to enhance project deliverables. Lead and develop project resources plans, ensuring resourcing requirements are planned and met for each project phase. Support the onboarding and HR coordination for project resources & site teams ensuring all project personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities. Finance Develop and maintain accurate project budgets, reviewing against actual costs on a frequent basis. Supported by a robust variation order process, report to the Director, Marine and Technical Services, on project budgets and projected costs. Coordinate project payment structures and stage payments with the accounting teams. Drive and manage project procurement and logistics processes with respective teams and stake holders. Ensure cost leadership practices are embedded in research and solutions. Customer Respond to feedback from external and internal project stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of a first-class service and proactive resolution to project challenges. Manage all project specific customer relations and provide customer reporting as required for the project. Create and drive customer the interface matrix ensuring clear roles and responsibilities and project delivery in line with customer expectations. Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills. Proven project management capability. Knowledge of FSRU projects and systems, technical operations and maintenance philosophies. Newbuild shipyard and dry docking experience as site or project manager. Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. LNG experience, knowledge of technical shipping operations. Ability to prioritise and adapt to a changing environment. Ability to respond to project stakeholders in a positive and proactive manner. Preferred Professional designation in engineering or project management. Benefits Package Hybrid working.
