The cottage rental price is £6 20 Additional charge for dogs Dogs are very welcome (max 2 well behaved and house trained dogs). There is an additional charge of £20 per dog per stay. If you are bringing a dog please contact me before buying and I will send you a revised offer which will include this additional amount.If you don’t have dogs please be reassured that I clean the cottage myself and you won’t fine evidence of any previous guest dogs when you stay. Please make sure you have looked at these before you buy THE COTTAGE Squirrel cottage is a characterful and cosy cottage with magnificent views ..perfect for 2 at any time of the year. It is one of our three family owned and run cottages in the lovely village of Thornthwaite. It sits next door to Fox Howe cottage (sleeps 4) and round the corner from Jasmine cottage (sleeps 4)Downstairs is an open plan kitchen/living/dining area with beams and original exposed stone wallUpstairs is the bedroom with en-suite bathroom.Outside at the front is a small east facing flagged patio which gets the morning sun COTTAGE FACILITIES -Log burner-Under floor heating -WiFi-Modern and very well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, slow cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, under counter fridge and freezer-Smart 32inch TV, DVD player and digital radio-Oak four poster bed (king size)-Large corner bath and separate shower -Private off road parking beside the cottage (shared with ourselves and our other cottage Fox Howe)-Secure bike storage-Charcoal BBQ COTTAGE LOCATION -Semi rural village location set back from minor road-At the base of Whinlatter Forest Park-Walking and cycling from the door-Braithwaite village (1 mile) has 3 pubs serving food, a cafe and a village shop-Bassenthwaite lakeshore a 20min walk-Keswick and Derwentwater easy to get to (3 miles)-Regular bus service into Keswick (bus stop a few paces over the road from the cottage)-Buttermere a short drive over Honister or Newlands mountain passes INCLUDED IN THE PRICE Gas and electricityWiFiAll bedding and linenTowels (bath sheet and hand towel per person)Basket of logsIn the kitchen -Tea towels, washing up liquid and liquid hand soap. Please make sure that you have looked at these before booking and contact me if you have any questions Payment -Payment is in full at the time of booking. This is non refundable or transferable except in the following two circumstances Cancellation Policy The booking is non refundable and non transferable, should you have to cancel for any reason. Please note the following two exceptions.1. If I am unable to let the cottage for any reason then you will receive a full refund.2. If I am directed by the Government to close the cottage for any reason then you will receive a full refund. Please note that if the Government has placed restrictions on travel from the area where you live (such as in a local lockdown during a pandemic) but the cottage is allowed to remain open you will not be eligible for a refund.Current pandemic virus specific information (eBay do not permit me to name it in this advert)In line with Government guidance if any of the following circumstances apply at the time of your planned arrival to the cottage then you will not be permitted to stay you will not be eligible for a refund-if you or anyone you live with has one or more of the current pandemic virus symptoms (a high temperature, new or persistent cough, or a loss of/change in sense of taste or smell), even if these symptoms are mild-if you or anyone you live with has tested positive for the current pandemic virus and is self-isolating-if you have been asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and TraceIf you or any of your party develop current pandemic virus symptoms, test positive for the current pandemic virus or are asked by NHS Test and Trace to self-isolate whilst you are staying then you must inform me as soon as possible and all return home at the earliest opportunity. You will not be eligible for a refundPlease make sure that you have adequate travel insurance to protect you against this cancellation policy. My liability does not extend beyond this. Pre arrival communication -After you have booked I will request from you an email and a mobile number. This will allow me to complete my own booking process, to easily send detailed directions and to contact you should I need to at short notice Occupancy -The number of persons occupying Squirrel cottage must not exceed 2 people Arrival and Departure -Check in is any time from 5 pm onwards. Check out is by 10 am at the latest Care of the cottage -Squirrel cottage must be left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of your stay. You are responsible for any breakages or damage to the cottage or it’s contents and may be invoiced for these with the exception of minor breakages e.g. glassware etc.Should you find any faults or have any problems during your stay please let me know straight away and I will do my best to sort it out. Dogs -A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome and must be declared when booking. There is an additional charge of £20 per dog per stay. All dogs staying must be well behaved and house trained. They must not be allowed on the sofa or the bed and must not be left alone in the cottage. Smoking -No smoking of any type is permitted within the cottage.
